The new sub-£60 Cadence CS6 Match Reel, for float and feeder fishing, comes with a feature package that you would normally expect on a £90-plus design, report the team behind its design.

First impressions are that it looks pretty solid. Available in a 3000 and a 4000 size, it is built around a strong and corrosion resistant aluminium frame, and is supplied with two machined aluminium spools, one deep, and one shallow, taking 150 m of 0.28 mm (8 lb) and 110 m of 0.22 mm (4 lb) line respectively.

It comes with a fast 6.2:1 gear ratio, seven ball bearings and an instant anti-reverse bearing, and a carbon fibre front drag system.

Add the ergonomic EVA knob on the handle, a stainless steel main shaft and brass pinion gear and that’s an impressive package for the price.
