Best cabin tent

Cabin tents let you do something in your tent that you can’t take for granted with other designs: stand up. Constructed with straight walls, like a cabin, unless you’re really tall, you don’t have to crouch, stoop or scuttle around when getting dressed or preparing for your day with a cabin tent’s lofty center height

The robust cabin design usually means lots of space inside, plus windows and doors. This can make them the ideal shape for outdoor events and markets as well as car camping. Like any tent, they should be waterproof, look for taped seams and tub-style floors to keep out the rain. Preassembled poles mean they are usually quick and easy to assemble with setup times of a minute. Here are the cabin tents we would recommend.

Coleman Cabin Tent with Instant Setup in 60 Seconds

Roomy and stays dark

You can have this cabin tent up in 60 seconds thanks to preassembled poles. You’ll stay dry with the taped inverted seams, welded corners and a bath tub-style floor to keep water out. Built to last with double-thick fabric, it’s roomy at 10 x 9ft with a 6ft center height. Dark Room technology will hopefully stop your sunrise wake-up call.

The cabin tent is a good design if you want plenty of standing room, a quick setup, and a durable tent. There’s lots to be said for high ceilings, straight walls and windows, even if you can’t take it backpacking. We would recommend the Coleman Cabin Tent. It’s as well made and robust as you would expect from a respected outdoor brand like Coleman but with plenty of features like their WeatherTec rain-resistance and Dark Room fabric to keep the sun from waking you or heating the tent up too much.

If you want a seriously big space, the Ozark 10-Person 2 Room Cabin Tent is a good option. It has acres of room, divided into two rooms and will see you through many a season with its durable construction.
