Proviz Reflect360: first impressions

Famous for their lighthouse-like luminosity, Proviz products – including the Proviz Reflect360 running jacket – are made with millions of tiny, highly reflective glass beads, which reflect light back from vehicle headlights. During the daytime the jacket is silver and black, and when it catches the light even on a gloomy day, the reflective material bounces light back. This is definitely the most reflective jacket we tested for our best running jacket buying guide.

The Reflect360 weighs in at just 170g (size variable), it has a collar but no hood and there are two pockets on the front of the jacket. It also has elasticated cuffs and waist to stop the wind from penetrating.

Proviz Reflect360: on the trails

Proviz Reflect360

Very bright and very warm (just be careful not to blind any running mates) (Image credit: Proviz)

At night this jacket really comes into its own, and on those colder nights when we know we are going to be running around moving traffic, we always reach for the Proviz Reflect360.

It’s highly visible when car lights hit it, grabbing the attention of all onlookers (to the extent that fellow runners occasionally complain about being blinded). Basically, it's the ultimate safety jacket that gives you a brilliant glow.

But it’s also great while running on the trails, as fellow runners’ headlamps bounce off the jacket resulting in you becoming a beacon of light for others to follow.

The Proviz360 running jacket has a thicker material than most, and has mesh panels on the back, sides and arms for breathability. However we did find that when it is worn with a running vest it can get quite hot during exercise, as this blocks the main mesh panel on the back of the jacket.
