Hoka launches new, even softer Bondi 8 road running shoe

Hoka has given one of its most cushioned road running shoes an update for 2022, with even softer foam and a new extended heel for more stability. The Hoka Bondi 8 has received a big overhaul for 2022, with a redesigned crash pad to absorb shock and create a smooth roll from heelstrike to toe-off.

The new shoe is tougher, too. The updated foam is more resilient, helping the Bondi 8 handle more miles, and the outsole has greater rubber coverage to protect it from the road.

Like many running shoe brands, Hoka has also begun experimenting with recycled materials to limit the use of virgin plastics, and the Bondi 8 uses a blend of new and recycled material in the mesh upper, eyestay lining, sockliner, and tongue. It's a good-looking shoe too, available in a range of summery shades that would work equally well for everyday wear and training sessions, and the addition of a pull tab makes it easier to slip on when you're ready to hit the road.

The Bondi 8 is available now direct from Hoka for $165 / £145 in men's and women's sizes, and in three widths: standard, wide, and extra wide.
