Check out this Sufix Gyro Braid if you haven’t tried braid as a main line.

Available in an array of suitable breaking strains, starting with a 135 m spool of 0.12 mm (14 lb) up to 0.60 mm (125 lb) on a 1,000 m spool, it’ll lend itself to a multitude of uses.

There’s some more commonly used 0.26 mm (33 lb), 0.30 (37 lb), 0.35 mm (41 lb) and 0.40 mm (59 lb) options too, for specimen carp, pike and even barbel.

As a main line, this one is a true sinking braid. Sufix report that “it goes down like a brick” as well as being really tough and strong.

Sufix Gyro Braid is a braided, multi-purpose line, made with HMPE fibres, with an excellent diameter-to-strength ratio.

It’s already proved itself on weedy venues, where it slices through weed like butter when big fish try to ‘go to ground’, ensuring you stay in contact.

Useful for marker work too, Sufix Gyro Braid comes in a green colour, to help it blend in.

If you’re looking for a sinking line with near zero stretch, so that you know exactly what’s going on at the business end, whether you’re watching a ‘tip, or bobbin, it’s worth closer inspection.

Prices: from £8.99 for 135 m to £139 for 3,500 m.
